We have students from over 56 countries boarding with us and pride ourselves on effective boarding provisions where customer service and the welfare of students is of paramount importance. We are currently seeking a Night Job Title Night Team Leader 2 House Parent to work alongside the Boarding Manager and Head of Welfare and Welfare/Medical team. The primary role is to really get to know the students in your care and build a relationship of trust with them. You might be expected to be ready to support the student as well as take a lead on disciplinary matters within the house when required. You will be expected to manage the boarding house ensuring all housekeeping tasks are completed to a high level. The post holder will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We expect the post holder to have a very good understanding (specifically for the under 16 and under 18 client group and more generally with the over 18 client group) and a working knowledge of our responsibilities under the DUTY OF CARE statutory provisions. To Lead and Manage the Night House Parents and to ensure that all duties are completed, all appraisals are in place and targets and training requirements are being met. To ensure the security, safety and well-being of the College, its students and to protect property of the College, students and staffs against damage or theft, liaising with the Welfare team and Operations team Prioritising and responding to any issues requiring immediate attention during your shift, including fire alarm activations, medical issues requiring first aid, challenging unauthorised persons on premises The Night House Parent will come in to contact with staff, students and members of the public on a Regular basis and is expected to be courteous and helpful at all times. To patrol College premises during night duty, visiting all relevant areas as stipulated by the Residence Manager and SHP, ensuring the safety and security of these buildings and ensuring appropriate standards of behaviour are maintained by students overnight. Objectives: To share in aspects of College life, not just those relating to your house ? To secure high standards of Pastoral care in all areas and take pride and ownership of residence ? To ensure that practices improve the quality of care provided, meets the needs and aspirations of students and raise their standards of achievement. ? To understand how the pastoral care contributes to the Colleges priorities and overall education and achievement of our students ? To familiarize yourself with and have regard for the college mission statement, college’s boarding principles and practice. ? To be familiar with and work in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines relating to the college and residential facilities and be particular aware of Child Protection Policies, Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking, Anti Bullying Policies and attendance policy.
